The Pros of Red Blend Wine

Offering consistency while giving winemakers the chance to create their wildest dreams, wine blends prove that two grapes are often better than one.

Perfect harmony

Blends are wines that are made from a balance of two or more types of grape, giving winemakers the chance to create their own perfect wine by adding grapes to construct a custom-made flavor profile. When perfection is reached, the winemaker can adjust the recipe each year, allowing them to create the same magic with every vintage.

Bordeaux and beyond

Today, popular supermarket wines are the first things that come to mind when red blends are mentioned. But through the 1970s, most fine wines were blends, and in Bordeaux, the top wines still are, with reds featuring a balance of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc grapes.
