For A Quick Chill

There's nothing better than a glass of white or rosé wine that’s been chilled to crisp perfection. But what is perfection? For white and rosé, it is 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature drops any lower, the wine’s flavors will begin to dull. Luckily, you can get your wine to the right temperature quickly, following either of these simple methods.

The 30-Minute Refrigerator Method

Chill your wine quickly with a cold compress.

You Need:

1 linen dish towel

Cold water

Wet and wring our your dish towel with cool water. Wrap the towel around the wine bottle and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.

The 40-Minute Refrigerator-Free Method

Salt lowers water's freezing point, chilling your wine faster than the standard ice bath.

You Need:

1 gallon-sized bowl or bucket

1-2 trays of ice cubes

1/2 cup of salt

Cold water

1 small towel

1 large spoon

In the bowl, mix salt with a splash of water. Add the ice and bottle of wine to bowl and leave for 30-40 minutes, rotating wine occasionally. Wipe bottle off with towel and serve.
