This Chenin Blanc showcases Clarksburg’s signature balance of vibrant fruit and crisp acidity, finishing with a clean, earthy elegance.

This Chenin Blanc entices with a fragrant nose of fresh honeydew melon, green apple, and crisp pear, complemented by subtle earth and stone-like minerality. On the palate, the wine greets you with a beautifully balanced sweetness that doesn’t overwhelm, offering vibrant flavors of juicy honeydew, green apple, and a touch of yellow apple, with an alluring waxy texture that’s characteristic of Chenin Blanc. A delicate earthiness adds complexity, while the wine’s bright acidity keeps it refreshingly clean. The finish lingers with a mouthwatering crispness, leaving behind hints of fresh fruit and an elegant mineral edge. A wonderfully expressive and harmonious wine.

We’ll be honest—whenever a Clarksburg AVA Chenin Blanc hits the table, we know we’re in for something extraordinary. This wine is right up there with the best of France’s Loire Valley, and dare we say, this Californian beauty has a certain finesse that gives its French counterparts a run for their money. Located in the Sacramento Valley, Clarksburg shares many of the same ideal growing conditions as the Loire, from its cool maritime influences to its mineral-rich soils—all coming together to create the perfect environment for Chenin Blanc. And when we had the chance to grab this gem, we didn’t hesitate.

So why are we so passionate about Lot 940? Pop the cork and you’ll understand. Hailing from a rapidly emerging wine region, this wine offers a perfect balance of vibrant fruit, bracing acidity, and gentle sweetness—think Vouvray with a distinctive Californian twist. On the nose, you’ll find honeydew melon, green apple, and a touch of stone minerality, all beckoning you in. The palate is crisp and fresh, with a lovely waxy texture that brings depth and complexity without weighing you down. It’s the ideal balance of freshness and richness, and we’re absolutely here for it.

This is. a very smooth

"This is. a very smooth Chenin Blanc, less citric than most California vintages of this grape. The finish tastes of pear with a hint of walnut. Recommended as an aperitif, or. with a light cheese, such as gruyere."

DELICIOUS! For my taste, it

"DELICIOUS! For my taste, it is perfectly blended in notes of butter, citrus, and fruit. It is my favorite of the Chenin Blanc Lot 900s. Very quaffable and pairs well with everything we've enjoyed it with including seafood and strong cheeses."

wife likes sweet white wines (Moscato)

"My wife enjoys sweet wines, Moscato is always a winner with her. Tonight, when she tasted her glass, she instantly said this is different it is not too sweet yet it's very tasty. I enjoyed my glass while my wife poured her second. We perfectly paired this with a chicken/ zucchini patty with gravy. There is a refreshing taste of fresh fruit with a hint of sweetness."
