Dark, daring, and unapologetically bold, the 2022 Cameron Hughes 'Lot 956' Syrah from Sonoma County is a full-bodied knockout with serious attitude. Layers of brambly boysenberry and ripe blackberry weave through smoky bacon and a punch of black pepper, creating a meaty, savory depth that lingers long after each sip. Built for the grill, this dry, structured Syrah shines alongside BBQ ribs, juicy burgers, or a perfectly seared lamb chop. Serve at room temp and let the flavors unravel.

This is a really good

"This is a really good wine (more fine-tuned rating = 4. 7/5. 0). Full-bodied, rich and robust flavors (good but not overpowering fruit, which is my preference) and good [smooth] finish. I definitely recommend this wine."

Probably more like 4. 1-4. 4 stars

"Really enjoyed this one. Dark fruit, a little blue fruit, and a peppery note that gives it some personality. There’s a firmer structure than a soft Cabernet, but it isn’t harsh. It opened up nicely and showed especially well with filet mignon, where the fruit and texture came together. What I liked is that it didn’t require food to be enjoyable, but food took it up a level. For the price, this overdelivered, and I’d buy it again."
