2024 Pierofosco Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

$9.99 $16.99

Crafted in the rolling hills of Italy’s Abruzzo region, the 2024 Pierofosco Montepulciano d’Abruzzo captures the heart and heritage of central Italy’s winemaking tradition. The region’s warm days, cool Adriatic breezes, and limestone-rich soils nurture grapes with depth and vibrancy, resulting in a wine that’s rich yet beautifully balanced. Aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, and a hint of spice unfold into a smooth, velvety palate with soft tannins and a lingering finish. Robust and inviting, it pairs wonderfully with hearty pasta dishes, grilled lamb, or aged cheeses. It’s an expressive red that brings rustic Italian charm to any meal.

Very light watered down red wine.

"Very weak watered down red wine and should be under $3. NO more Itallan wines for me Skip the foreign tariffed, watered down cheap bulk wines with covid19 wine insider 100% mark ups!. Better CA red wines at trader joies for $4-$5 bottle with discount like Bogle or Woodbridge or Beringer or Mondavi bulk wines just down the road from WineInsiders HQs. and Palo Robles CA."

The first few sips left

"The first few sips left me leaning toward three stars. The initial mouth feel had a little more bite than I would have preferred. Other than that, it seemed well-balanced, pleasantly dry, and less fruity than a Montepulciano often is. By the time I'd finished the glass, it had grown on me another star's worth. Would be a good choice for those who wish to avoid jammy, berry-tasting wines."
