Cradled along California's Monterey Coast, where cool ocean winds temper the sun and extend the growing season, Pinot Noir thrives with remarkable nuance. Cameron Hughes Lot 923 shows just how well the region suits this varietal, offering a graceful interplay of bright red cherry and juicy raspberry layered with a touch of baking spice. Medium-bodied and dry, it's polished yet approachable, with enough depth to shine alongside roast duck or herb-crusted pork Loin, while its vibrant fruit and subtle earthiness also make it a natural match for mushroom risotto or grilled salmon. A true expression of Monterey's coastal terroir, this Pinot marries elegance with versatility in every glass.

A mediocre choice

Since you asked, my notes

"Since you asked, my notes from 1 Feb 2026: Near its peak. Fruit there there but fading. Opened up a bit with air. Structure holding it together. Pleasant at 24 hours, but Don’t buy any more. But if someone in a warehouse runs across a few bottles of: Lot 960 2018 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley, let me now, because I’d be in the market for those."
