This 2022 Soliloquio Nero d’Avola DOC from Sicily delights the palate with warm fragrances of blackberry, cherry, and blueberries along with subtle notes of spice. Each sip presents a harmonious balance of bold power with delicate softness, complemented by silky tannins and slight hints of licorice and chocolate. This full-bodied wine derives from Nero d’Avola grapes grown with the greatest of care in Sicily. This dark-skinned grape takes its name from the town of Avola on the island’s southeast quarter. With an arid, rocky climate, these grapes were grown in radiant sunshine in an Alberello-pruned vineyard for extra resistance to the high winds characteristic of the region. With bold fruit flavors and punchy acidity, this Nero d’Avola makes a great match for rich, meaty meats like juicy BBQ burgers or a decadent beef stew.
