Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023, the Tóth Ferenc Winery has long been a driving force in Eger’s winemaking evolution—championing rare grape varieties, earning top regional honors, and crafting wines with unmistakable character. This certified sustainable Egri Csillag Superior is no exception. Bursting with floral aromas of acacia blossom and honeysuckle, it delivers layers of yellow apple skin, ripe pear, cantaloupe, and white peach. Herbaceous notes of thyme and tarragon add complexity, while a vibrant acidity hints at its aging potential. Pair it with herb-roasted chicken, grilled fish, or creamy pasta dishes to bring out its savory side. A bold, aromatic white from one of Hungary’s most storied producers.

Mineral, Textured, and Unexpectedly Versatile

"This Egri Csillag surprised me in the best way. It’s not fruit-forward or showy — it’s structured, balanced, and quietly complex. There’s subtle pear and citrus on the nose, but the real appeal is the texture and mineral backbone. The acidity is present but not sharp, and the finish leans slightly creamy rather than austere. It paired beautifully with salted egg salmon skin and also works well with creamy dishes where you don’t want excessive acidity cutting through everything. It feels composed and grown-up — more about structure than fruit. A serious, versatile white that overdelivers at its price point. I will happily order this again."

Not my kinda of wine

"I personally thought this tasted like vinegar my son said he thought soap. So either way we didn't care for it. I order this because, 1 my family is Hungarian and 2 we liked the red we have been getting so we though heck lets try it. . Well sometimes its just a gamble. Thanks for a variety of wines."
