Made from 100% Vermentino grapes that were nourished on the vine by Tuscan sea breezes, the 2024 Cala de' Poeti Vermentino bursts with opulent flavor and a radiant freshness. This carefree Italian white has a Platinum Medal-winning heritage thanks to its complex notes of peaches, flowers, sage, and Rosemary, and nice minerality. Presented by Castellani, an award-winning winery established in 1903, this wine exemplifies the family-owned vineyard’s ability to craft traditional wines while embracing the latest innovations in winemaking. The unmatched artistry of the Castellani vineyard is also reflected in the picturesque labels of the Cala de’ Poeti wine line, which feature beautiful oil painting reproductions originating from the Castellani family’s artist residency held on their historic estate. For a taste of la dolce vita, serve this refreshing wine chilled with chicken salad.

I would buy again! Wait. . . I have already!

"Really enjoyable Vermentino that drinks fresh and clean without being too lean or overly acidic. There’s bright citrus and orchard fruit up front, but what stood out most was the balance. It has enough freshness to wake up the palate, but it doesn’t turn sharp or sour. There’s a nice subtle texture that gives it more interest than a simple porch white. What I liked most was the finish. It stayed clean and easy, with none of the odd mineral bite or harshness that can show up in some whites. Very food friendly, but also easy to drink on its own. For me, this is the kind of bottle I’d happily buy again. Because guess what. . . I ALREADY HAVE! Side point: my wife really enjoys a Vermentino from Epoch Estates. Much more expensive. This doesn't quite reach that level of deliciousness, but it's absolutely incredible that it does compare and does so at a fraction of the price!"
