We believe great wine shouldn't come with a markup. This price reflects our 20% everyday savings, just for shopping at Wine Insiders.
Save 17% Save $3.00 A family-made, award-winning, everyday sipper that rises above the rest, offering more structure, color, and intensity than your typical Old World Barbera, and for just $15 a bottle!
This Barbera’s high elevation source is abundantly evident in its richer, darker ruby color than would typically be found in Barbera from the Old World. Lively notes of violet petals, vanilla extract, and anise add enticing complexity to an inviting nose dominated by fresh red berries. On the palate, this Barbera is true to form, staying fruit-driven throughout with sour dark cherry flavors. These grapes obviously benefited from that famous Lake County sunshine, imbuing the wine with a full body that’s also buoyant and balanced, with great palate tension. Hearty pasta dishes, gourmet pizza, grilled veggies, and flank steaks can all be on the menu when this red is poured.
Just when we’d thought that we’d seen it all when it comes to Barbera, along comes Lot 888 to make us reset our expectations of this versatile Piedmontese variety. Barbera is native to the rolling hills of northwestern Italy, still, its vibrant red berry flavor has proven so immensely popular that plantings can now be found throughout Italy, as well as South America, Australia, Israel, Africa, and California.
Despite its ubiquitousness, Barbera rarely sees the kind of treatment that Lot 888 brings to the table.
This 2021 Barbera was grown in an as yet still under-the-radar section of California’s Lake County called High Valley. This aptly named AVA houses Lot 888’s source winery’s well-draining vineyards, which sit over 2,000 feet above sea level. Volcanic deposits force the vines to grow deep roots in search of water, with complex berry flavor being the happy result. The cooler breezes retain Barbera’s already fantastic acidity, and the higher elevations promote thicker skin development to protect the grapes from the intense UV light at those higher altitudes.
All things considered, you’re getting a family-made, everyday sipper, that rises above the rest, offering more structure, color, and intensity than your typical Old World Barbera.

Save 50% Save $9.00 An incredible Bordeaux steal from one of the most globally recognizable appellations!
Pitch perfect Bordelaise extraction with a refined nose of blue-to-red fruit, clay dust, and cassis berries, the entry is excellently balanced with incredible weight, medium acidity, new leather, tarmac, and earth - all terroir. The finish is dry, showcasing integrated tannin, and medium+ length with further earthy terroir waves. Built to be laid down, this is equally a daily quaffer in its youth with a healthy decant.
Northwest of Bordeaux city proper, on the western bank of the river Gironde, lies a large landmass known as the Haut-Médoc. Home to the “Famous Four” Bordelaise appellations - Margaux, Pauillac, Saint-Estèphe, and Saint-Julien - the Haut-Médoc enjoys warmer weather than it’s more northern neighbor, Médoc, making for riper fruit, excellent minerality, and firmer, finer, more ageable wines. The more river-situated areas of the region focus on Cabernet Sauvignon growths, while the inland areas have shifted more towards Merlot growths, ultimately dominating Cab growths in these areas today.
Lot 853 is a treasure hunter’s dream. Being Merlot dominated, the source winery declassified one of the “Famous Four” appellate house blends by punching up their Merlot in favor of a more drinkable experience (that itself can still take on quite a fair amount of aging) in its youth and opting for the greater Haut-Médoc labeling vs. their sub-appellation (which is defined by Cab-dominated blends). Rooted to gravel, clay, and limestone soils, no expense was spared in the making of this bottle including a 14-month French oak regimen, world-class winemaking team, and a source winery nod to the possibility of 20+ years of graceful aging.

Save 55% Save $11.00 A vibrant, aromatic, and smooth Pinot Noir showcasing zesty acidities.
Lot 939 showcases the bold essence of Monterey County's terroir, where cool coastal winds dance over the vineyards, infusing the grapes with invigorating vitality. This Pinot Noir exudes a lively charm with vibrant acidity, weaving through layers of dark cherry and cranberry notes, accented by hints of wild herbs and spices. Its opulent texture envelops the palate, making it equally delightful for a moment of solitary indulgence or paired with sumptuous dishes enriched with aromatic spices. For a harmonious dining experience think about classic Italian pairings like silky pasta dishes with earthy mushroom ragu or a hearty slice layered with tangy tomato sauce, fresh Mozzarella, and salty Prosciutto. The wine's bright acidity will cut through the richness, creating a flavor explosion on your taste buds. Buon appetito!
Calling all Pinot Noir fanatics! Buckle up, because we've got another award-winning monster for you.
Past vintages of this Lot have been showered with superlatives like juicy, zesty, full-bodied, plush, and round. And guess what? This one lives up to the hype. The source winery in Napa is a powerhouse with access to California's dream vineyards, especially in Monterey. Shhh, here's the secret (don't tell our Sonoma friends): Monterey might be the state's most underrated Pinot Noir region. The secret weapon? Monterey Bay's "Blue Grand Canyon." Frigid offshore winds – think permanently bent trees – come blasting in, forcing Pinot grapes to grow thicker skins. The result? Wines loaded with freshness, fragrance, power, and that perfect racy acidity we love. Boom!
Think Lot 939 is all about structure? Think again. We're talking juicy dark cherry, plum, a sprinkle of herbs and baking spices, and a texture so plush it rivals heavy-hitters like Chalone, Pisoni, Talbott, and Wente (whose top bottles can set you back $75!). This is your chance to experience world-class Pinot Noir without breaking the bank. It's a Napa powerhouse meets Monterey magic kind of deal that does not disappoint!

Save 59% Save $13.00 A contender for the score of the decade, top-level juice for under mid-shelf pricing!
Beautifully dark and translucent in the glass, the nose is redolent with plum sauce, blackberry, blueberry and chocolate haloed by baking spices and vanilla. The entry is lush and defined by small, grippy tannins alongside medium+ acidity, framed by Tobacco, blue fruit, and green peppercorns, leading into a medium length finish, full of umami, that wraps up neat and clean, beckoning another sip.
An incredible find from a tragic situation; the trade war between China and Australia that played out a few years back left a hefty portion of premium juice destined for mainland Asia in limbo, and who better to slide in and score you one of the deals of the decade? From a premier house's top-end program, we scored a killer price on their high-end, newly surplus Shiraz.
Lot 834 has no expense spared in its production, and a water-tight NDA to match - per usual with these deals at this level. Not much can be said except you've probably heard of the original producer (if you hang in the high-end Aussie circles) and you'll probably never get this wine in the US as it was never produced to come here (unless you know a smuggling collector or the like). Stock up, because once the word gets out on this bottling, it may not hang around for much longer....
